In a bid to ensure sanity on our roads and curb any form of hooliganism capable of distorting public peace, the new Area Commander Of Police, Sango- Ota, ACP, Muyideen Obey, has vowed to unanimously embrace all security agencies in the axis.
The Area Commander of Police, Ota Division, Muyideen Obey made this declaration during his first outing to Traffic Law Enforcement and Compliance Corps, (Trace), area 4 Command, in Ota.
The Police boss added that, Police officers and other security agencies are partners in progress saying indiscipline in an individual has cultivated lawlessness and result in hooliganism and traffic jam which would no longer be tolerated.
Obey reiterated that all the security agencies in the area must buckle up to enforce government policies adding that the local government chairman's position in putting a total end to indiscipline of traders in the act of displaying their goods on road sides must be strictly enforced.
" No officer should engage in fight with any law offender, rather, take photograph and send to appropriate quotas for necessary actions, there is total climb down on unregistered motorcycles, vehicles, tinted glasses, covering of plate numbers amongst others. Everyone has right to arrest and hand over to Police for further prosecution,"
" Total lockdown in traffic should not be condorned, there must always be a movement for vehicles on our high ways, any offender caught would be charged to court to reduce impunity among our people", ACP Obey said.
The Area 4 Commander of 'TRACE', Adekunle Ajibade in his remarks added that the visit to the command is very necessary in order to design the modus operandi and gear up concerted efforts to bring sanity to the highways in the axis.
He said there is need to work together in order to make government's efforts in making our roads accident free, a huge success adding that the present of all the commanders in various divisions of the command is for them to put up their thinking caps and declare zero tolerance to traffic offences, thereby bringing sanity to the road users.
Ajibade commended the efforts of the new area commander of police, Commander Muyideen Obey for his doggedness since he came on board to inject synergy in all the security agencies to achieve a set goal of governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration in Ogun State.
