The Ogun State Government is set to commission Osi-Ota- Ikola-Navy-RayPower road is on Wednesday, May 26, and Elite-Oke-Lantoro road, Abeokuta, on Thursday, May 27, 2021, in commemoration of the second-year anniversary of the Prince Dapo Abiodun led-administration.
Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, who disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Abeokuta, said other roads slated for inauguration are Fajol-American Junction in Obantoko, in Abeokuta, Sagamu interchange, as well as Oru-Awa-Ilaporu in Ijebu axis, adding that upon completion, the roads will improve socio-wellbeing and quality of life in their areas of location.
Engr. Akinsanya said the Prince Dapo Abiodun led-administration was determined to provide infrastructural facilities in fulfillment of its promise to improve the socio-economic development of the State.
The Commissioner said over 200 kilometers of roads had been fully reconstructed, while 300 kilometers roads also received sectional rehabilitation, through the State Public Works Agency (OPWA).
“These roads when completed, Lagos and Ogun States will benefit from each other, especially along the newly constructed Ijebu-Ode-Epe road, Osi-Ota-Ikola Navy, Ray Power, to mention a few. Loss of manhour for travelers will significantly reduce, quality of life will also be improved, while flooding in the area will be a thing of the past, as drainages have been properly channeled’’, he said.
While cautioning motorists against excessive speeding to avoid hazards and accidents, Engr. Akinsanya advised pedestrians to be safety conscious, by using the walk ways, imploring residents to be patient with the government, as infrastructural development would eventually be made across the State’s three Senatorial Districts.
