The Special Adviser/Director-General, Bureau of Lands and Survey, Mr. Aina Salami has advised the general public to make thorough findings on the status of any land before purchase.
Mr. Salami stated this in a chat with correspondents on the activities of the Bureau in Abeokuta, saying prospective property buyers should be careful of purchasing any land, and cross check from appropriate agencies before making transactions, to ensure genuineness of the acquired property.
The Special Adviser noted that the Bureau and other related agencies had followed due process on land matters, saying the development has drastically reduced litigation against the government.
He urged residents to utilise acquired land for the purpose it was meant for and not to erect any structure on the set back or right of way, as it could pose danger for the occupants and the owners.
