 I won’t leave behind abandoned project for my successor, says Fayemi

 

Ekiti State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi has said all ongoing development projects embarked on by his administration will be completed before the expiration of his tenure.

He said measures had been put in place to ensure that no ongoing project across the three senatorial zones would be abandoned for his successor in 2022, despite the financial straits facing the state.

The governor, who spoke yesterday at the first edition of Ekiti State Civic Engagement with interest groups in Ado Ekiti, said his administration remained ahead in terms of execution of people-oriented projects that would enhance genuine socio-economic development.

Fayemi, represented by his deputy, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, attributed the ongoing massive investment in the state’s economy to the collaboration of his administration with development partners.

He highlighted some of the projects facilitated by government’s partnership with development partners to include the resuscitated Ikun Dairy Farm, Rice Mills in Ado Ekiti, Cassava Processing Plants in Oke Ako-Irele axis, rehabilitation of major dams, ongoing Agro Cargo Airport, among others.

Fayemi said he was always in pursuit of development partners to lift the state’s economy from the woods, adding that the airport project will be completed before his tenure expires.
