MY GOVT WILL CONTINUE TO ACCORD RESPECT TO TRADITIONAL INSTITUTION -OGSG
In realisation of the important roles that the traditional institution plays as a veritable link between the government and people at the grassroots, the Ogun State government will continue to accord it desired respect, maintain equity and fairness among its members and be thorough in the process of filling vacant stools.
The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, gave this assurance at the installation and presentation of Staff of Office to the new Ogiyan of Alaari, Oba Kehinde Adeisa in Ipokia Local Government Area of the State, emphasising that it was important to properly position the institution, in order for it to perform its roles credibly.
Abiodun, represented by the Director of Chieftaincy, Prince Adesoji Adewuyi enjoined the new monarch to always champion efforts that would enhance peaceful co-existence with other royal fathers within the Local Government Areas and the people of his community, saying a peaceful community would engender general peace across the State.
In his address, Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Agbetokun Wasiu, enjoined the people and the new monarch to join hands with the present administration to move Ipokia and the State to greater heights.
He also charged Oba Adeisa to accommodate various shades of opinions and suggestions that could enhance socio-economic growth.
In his remarks, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, represented by Onipokia of Ipokia, Oba Olaniyan Yisa implored the people of Alaari community to come together as one, for the progress of their land.
In his acceptance speech, the new Ogiyan of Alaari expressed appreciation to the Governor for according respect for traditional institution, assuring that he would not betray the trust reposed in him by the present administration and the people of Alaari
