Ogun HoS Tasks Managers At CIPM Conference To Embrace New Ideas 

Personnel Managers have been urged to grab the opportunity to learn new ways of doing things in order to improve themselves and be better in all their endeavours.

Ogun State Head of Service, Alhaja Selimot Ottun who stated this during the 7th Annual Conference of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Ogun State branch, which was held virtually, with the theme " Workplace Challenges In The New World of Work: The Need For Re- Skilling" said that people should embrace new ideas.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Service Matters, Mr. Dahunsi Ogunleye, Alhaja Ottun called on every individual to continued improving his or her knowledge, adding that, Covid- 19 pandemic had made things to be done with 'New Normal" approach.

According to her "Nothing is better than opportunity to learn and we must do it every time. The day we die is the day learning stop, so, anyone that wants to be relevant should love new ideas. Conference like this afford us to learn and make us improve in order to be better in all that we do" she said.

In his welcome address, the chairman, CIPM, Ogun State  branch, who was also the Director of Welfare, Bureau of Service Matters, Mr. Abubakar Adeduntan, said that the changes being experience all over the world requires professionals in Human Resources practices to innovate, engage and empower the workforce with new skills to keep up with the trends.

In his remark, the President and Chairman, Governing Council of CIPM, Mr. Olusegun Mojeed appreciated the Head of Service for being part of the programme, calling on members to always make protocols, publicity and performance as essential parts of professionalism in their programmes and they should apply whatever they learnt at the conference in their day to day activities.
