Gov. Abiodun charges New TASUED Graduands to see their Achievement as a Starting Point.
Ogun state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has charged the New Graduands of Tai Solarin University of Education to see their Achievement as a starting point for achieving greater heights in the nearest future.
Abiodun made the charge at the 12th Convocation Ceremony of the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode.
He urged the Graduands students to think outside the box of what they could do to become employers of labour, so as to reduce the growing rate of unemployment.
"As you go into the world to contribute your quota, you should remember that you are now transitioning into becoming shapers of other destinies. Be wise, responsible, Industrious, dependable and always portray positive character known of a worthy Model" He said.
The Governor also disclosed that his Administration has approved a sum of N200m as Annual State Education Intervention fund for the development of infrastructure in the state owned tertiary institutions.
"The importance of Education cannot be overlooked and hence the need to adequately fund it. We have approved the rehabilitation of internal and access roads of tertiary institutions and the purchase of buses and other necessities for our tertiary institutions." Abiodun said.
The state helsman commend the steady Growth of TASUED, saying the institution connote the state symbol of Academic excellence, nobility and the flagship ofl University of Education in Nigeria.
Also Speaking, Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Oluwole Banjo said the institution has embarked on restructuring to enable it produce high quality and well grounded professionals which can be compared with their peers anywhere in the world.
Highlights of the Event included, the Governor on behalf of his late father, made a personal Donation of N1m Endowment fund for the overall best graduating student every year and Conferment of Honorary Doctorate Awards on the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi and the Managing Director and Chief Executive officer, AIRTEL PLC, Mr Segun Ogunsanya
