Shekarau, Ganduje reunite at Deputy Governor’s daughter’s wedding
It was a memorable meeting of Northern political giants at the wedding ceremony of the daughter of deputy Governor of Kano State, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna.
Besides, the wedding fathia reunited Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Senator representing Kano Central, Mal. Ibrahim Shekarau who met for the first time since after the crisis that rocked the state Congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano.
Ganduje and Shekarau who had since cut away their political ties with both fronting for parallel party leadership in the state, were seen exchange joyful pleasantries at Al-Furqan Central mosque, venue of the wedding fathia of the new couple.
Shekarau along senator representing Kano North, Barau Jibril and four house of representatives members from Kano; Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada ( Municipal Federal Constituency), Abdulkadir Jobe (Rimin-Gado/Dawakin-Tofa/Tofa), Barr. Abdullahi Karaye (Karaya), parted ways with Ganduje after kicking against the consensus arrangement for APC state leadership.
While Ganduje anointed Prince Abdullahi Abbas as party Chairman, the Shekarau’s group fronted a parallel congress that produced Ahmadu Haruna Danzago as party Chairman, a raging political crisis yet to be laid to rest.
Governor Ganduje who earlier stood as Guardian of the bride, Fatima Nasiru Gawuna had received the sum of N300,000 from Ambassador Dan-Kano who represented the family of the groom as traditional dowry paid to secure authority over the new bride.
Presiding over the well attended wedding fathia, the officiating clergy and chief Imam of Al-Furqan Central mosque, Sheikh, Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar admonished the new couple about marriage institution and the need to exercise fear of God and patience in the life long journey.
The renowned Islamic scholar , however, prayed for enduring relationship between the couple and blissful home endeared with love and faithfulness.
Chief among the cream de la cream that graced Gawuna’s daughter’s wedding include former PDP National Chairman Adamu Mu’azu, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Alh. Yayale Ahmed and Defense Minister, Major General Aliyu Magashi retired.
Others are Governor Mohammad Abubakar Badaru of Katsina State, former Governors of Zamfara and Sokoto states, Abdulazeez Yari and Wamako, members of diplomatic corp, captains of industries, traditional rulers, among othdr prominent personalities.
