Gbajabiamila welcomes babies of the year in Lagos
The speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Saturday welcomed the babies of the year in Lagos State.
The Speaker welcomed the babies at the Gbaja Maternal Child Care Centre, Surulere.
Gbajabiamila with baby Lateefat
Gbajabiamila welcomed baby Lateefat, a female, born at exactly midnight on January 1, weighing 3.2kg.
The speaker also welcomed the Okotie triplets born between 9.52 am and 9.54 am on Saturday.
The Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Madewa Adebajo, urged the state government to build more mother and child hospitals, saying this will help in the fight against maternal deaths in the state.
Speaking after the visit, Gbajabiamila said: “My wife and I welcome the first set of babies born in the early hours of January 1, 2022, including a set of triplets at the Gbaja Maternal and Child Care Center, Surulere, Lagos.
“We also visited the home of Special Children, Heart of Gold Hospice, Masha, Surulere. Happy New Year to you all.”
