Founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, Pastor David Oyedepo (left); General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye; his wife, Mrs. Adeboye; wife of the late General Overseer (GO), CPM International, Dr. Mercy Ezekiel and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Funeral/Commendation Service of the late GO in Lagos…yesterday
The General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A Adeboye; the National President, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke; founding and Senior Pastor of Word of Life Bible Church, Ayo Oritsejafor; and Presiding Bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), Bishop Mike Okonkwo were among the prominent personalities who paid tribute to the General Overseer and founder, Christian Pentecostal Mission (CPM) International, Rev. Dr. Obiora Ezekiel, describing him as a great man of God who paid his dues.
Speaking during the commendation service at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, yesterday, Adeboye described him as an extremely generous man.
He said, “You should not weep for him because he is in heaven now. You should weep for yourselves. It is appointed for a man to die once and after that judgment. Death has no respect for anybody, even the anointed. Kings will die; kingmakers will die. You should decide whether you want to stand before the judgment seat or the white throne.”
Bishop Okonkwo, on his part said, “It is unbelievable that you have gone. He was a unique man of God. He stood among equals. He was a demon destroyer and set captives free. His impact can never be erased. He always emphasised integrity and fear of God. He came, he saw, he conquered.”
Oritsejafor said Rev. Ezekiel gave his time and resources to the gospel, adding that he was a strong pillar of PFN.
He said, “You cannot talk about PFN in Nigeria without making reference to him. My good friend, we cannot forget you. I thank you for your contributions.”
The president and founder of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, Rev. Uma Ukpai said, “We travelled to many countries together in his lifetime. He was a humble and teachable man.”
His wife, Rev. Mercy Ezekiel described him as a great man of God that lived for others.
She said, “He lived for the gospel. He is my friend, my brother. He is everything to me.”
The President Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo and Bishop Oke were among the men of God that prayed for the family.
Born in 1943 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Nwogu of Iruowelle Village, Awka-Etiti in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Rev. Dr. Ezekiel was an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and erudite preacher of the gospel.
He is the founder and General Overseer of CPM, President Pentecostal International Bible Seminary, Lagos and a founding father of PFN.
