FIRST LADY’S ADIRE MARKET WEEK KICKS OFF ON APRIL 7

The Office of Ogun State First Lady and the Ajose Foundation will hold the First Lady’s Adire Market Week in Abeokuta between Thursday, April 7 and Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta.

A release from the Office of the first lady indicated that the event to showcase and promote authentic Adire products from 150 exhibitors would attract 5,000 local and international participants and equally feature a fashion exhibition, as part of activities scheduled for the opening and the closing ceremony.

It stated that the event is “organised to build on the gains of the successful launch of the adireogun.com, promote financial inclusion for women-owned businesses, enhance the tourism potentials in the State and further help Ogun to continue to set the pace as the Adire capital of the world”.

The Wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo is the Special Guest of Honour, while Chief Nike Okundaye a cultural icon and outstanding Adire trader would also grace the occasion.
