Human Skulls Were Discovered from an Islamic cleric popularly known as 'Alfa' -Eyewitness

An Islamic cleric suspected of human rituals met his waterloo after men of the Atiba Police Division apprehended him for allegedly mutilating a hairdresser, identified as Barakat, in Oyotoro, Oyo West Local Government Area of Oyo state.

A report revealed that residents of the area had always suspected the modus operandi of the cleric. However, on May 15, 2022, a foul odour was perceived in the area, which was traced to the Alfa's house, where the dismembered remains of the victim were found. Two weeks before the arrest of the suspect, the victim's husband reported to Amotekun that his wife was missing.

Mr. Siyanbola Akinkunmi, a resident of the area said that around 11 pm on the ill-fated day, when the apartment of the culprit was opened, he came out carrying a nylon bag. When the bag was searched, substances suspected to be human brains were discovered in it. It was further revealed that the suspect tried to flee but was chased and nabbed by residents, who took him back to his apartment, where a female human head was found.

Another eyewitness, Hammid Oyekola, revealed that the police chained the suspect to their bus. He added that when he was later taken back home for searching, human skulls were found in his room.

The DPO of Atiba Police Division, CSP Olasunkanmi Musiliu, confirmed the incident and revealed that the culprit confessed to killing the victim, who he said was his customer. He added that the case has been transferred to the Iyaganku Police Divisional Headquarters for further investigation.
