OGUN COALITION OF CIVIL SOCIETY AND PRO DEMOCRACY GROUPS ELECTS NEW EXCECUTIVES- Commends Prince Dapo Abiodun on governance strides

Various Pro Democracy and Human Rights Groups in Ogun State under the agies of COALITION OF PRO- DEMOCRACY AND CIVIL SOCIETY yesterday, at the Iwe Iroyin Press Center Hall, Abeokuta Elected and Inaugurated her New set of leadership after about decade of such.

The Convener, Comrade Lanre Ogunyinka who was the pioneer Coalition Chairman and currently the National Secretary, Publicity and Publications, Campaign for Democracy, CD, while welcoming Representatives of various groups commended  efforts and Activities of all existing groups in the state in making the State better for all, particularly for the concerted job of keeping the government on her toes with robust criticism and engagement at ensuring that the dividends of Democracy are well appropriated among the citizenry.

He admonished the out going executives of the Coalition, led by Comrade Yinka Folarin, for the good services rendered since he relinquished the leadership to the team about a decade ago. Ogunyinka however noted that it is time to change the batton for a New,  but tested and  committed younger activists to invest their rich energy and enthusiasm to carry the banner and fly it higher in the liberation struggle.

While speaking on the state of governance in the Gateway State, Comrade Ogunyinka on behalf of the group lauded the integrity, milk of kindness and good sense of governance exhibited by Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, the governor of the state, particularly for the way he turned around one of those liabilities inherited in the area of the demolishions of buildings and properties across the state by the past administration in the wake of road expansion without due compensation to those affected and which had continued to unleash harrowing survival experience on the affected owners, until now when the governor took the challenge as a responsility to rescue this trend,  as he had begun payment to the affected citizens.

"This is a clear demonstration of responsible leadership and a further demonstration of sensitivity of government at its peak. He could have looked the other way, particularly with the paucity of funds in the land. The constructions of linking roads like Kemta -Somorin; Oke-Lantoro, Alogi, and many more across the towns in the state by this administration is a novel that must be commended! If you don't know, while these roads now affords smooth motoring for the people in the area and beyond, it has equally lifted higher the economic value of properties and businesses along the areas to the advantages of the people.
