Just In: Buhari appoints new Postmaster General for NIPOST
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Adepoju Adeyemi Sunday as the a new Postmaster General/Chief Executive Officer for the Nigerian Postal Service,
The appointment of Sunday was announced in a statement on Wednesday by the spokesperson to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Uwa Suleiman.
According to the statement, Sunday was appointed based on the recommendation of the minister, Isa Pantami.
The statement read in part, “The new Postmaster General of NIPOST, Hon. Adepoju Adeyemi Sunday, is appointed for an initial term of five years.”
Adepoju is a professional accountant and a former member of the Federal House of Representatives from 2011 - 2015 and 2015 - 2019, representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency.
He will replace Dr. Ismail Adewusi, who was appointed in 2019 and has been on suspension.
