Bariga Local Council holds 2024 Budget Stakeholders’ Consultative Forum

Bariga Local Council, under the leadership of Hon. Alabi Kolade David yesterday, engaged critical Bariga Stakeholders ahead of the Year 2024 in discussing the budget tagged “Budget of consolidation of our achievements”

According to Hon. Alabi in his opening speech who said there’s no way one can run the affairs of government without consulting the critical stakeholders of our community in terms of budgeting stating that it became necessary to consolidate on the modest achievement of his administration going into the year 2024.

He continued, “We cannot stand before to tell you that we’ve delivered in all spheres but we can stand before you to tell you that we’ve delivered modestly. We are going into 2024 to consolidate our achievements and before the end of this tenure, we would have delivered on all of our campaign promises. We are resolute to take Bariga to another level of developmental trajectory. We will not be tired, we will work tirelessly till the last day”.

“Our works cut across all 8 political wards without any form of biased or political colouration. We are ensuring that there’s a developmental program that aims at addressing all the infrastructural deficits. We have touched a reasonable number of roads in Bariga, especially the waterlogged area with premium precision”.

Mr. Transformer as he’s fondly called, because of the ongoing transformation in Bariga, seized the opportunity of the stakeholders forum to intimate the gathering on the states of the ongoing projects in Bariga, ranging from roads, schools, which he promised to deliver in due course, he further reeled out his plan to have public health centers domiciled in all the 8 Political Wards of Bariga.

As a consultative forum, questions and answers were entertained by religious leaders, traditional rulers, CDC, CDAs, artisans, market representatives, and youth representatives, as they all made their requests for it to be captured in the 2024 Budget.

A highlight of the event was when Hon. Alabi constituted a street naming committee, saddled with the responsibility of reviewing all street names in Bariga, their certifications, evidence of yearly payment, and others. The committee comprised the former Somolu Federal House of Representative Member; Hon. Wole Diya, former Bariga Council Chairman; Hon. Sesan Olanrewaju, and erstwhile member of Lagos State House of Assembly representing Somolu constituency II; High Chief Wale Mogaji, Hon. Doyin Banjo, Alh. Dan Azeez Akorede, Rev. Joseph Ayorinde, and others, while a council representative will serve as the Secretary.

The epoch-making event had in attendance, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Zainot Adeola Kuponiyi, Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon.Temitope Okanlawon, SLG, Hon. Adedeji Bukola, Councillors, Other Exco Members, Council Manager, ably represented by HRO. Mrs. Balogun, Council Management, Council of Baales, Religious Leaders, Market Leaders, CDC/CDA Exco, Youth Representatives, Political Leaders, ALGON Representative amongst others.
