Association of Lagos Titled Chiefs Elects Adebutu, Opral Benson as President, Vice President
The Association of Lagos Titled Chiefs, a non-political association of honorary chiefs and prominent members of the community, has elected Chief Kessington Adebukola Adebutu and Chief Opral Benson as the President and Vice President.
The election was sequel to the passing of the immediate past President and Iya Abiye of Lagos, Chief Iyabode Muheenat Foresythe, who died in February 2024.
The Honorable General Secretary of the association and the Aare Onimo Ero of Lagos, Chief Olawumi Gasper, in a statement released commended the efforts of its founding fathers and past presidents for promoting the development of the Lagos economy through its involvement in transforming the public and private sectors.
He listed some of its past presidents including; Chief Kofo Abayomi-Babasale of Lagos, Chief Abiola Akerele-Lisa of Lagos Chief G B A Coker, Chief Moses Adekoyejo Majekodunmi- Mayegun of Lagos andChief Molade Okoya -Thomas; Asoju Oba and President(2012-2015).
In his remarks, the new President of the Association, Sir Kessington Adebukola Adebutu, who is also the Asoju Oba of Lagos, thanked God for the privilege of being alive and available to serve at the leadership of notable men and women of Lagos.
He promised to do his best by making members proud and holding dear the position of trust and responsibility reposed on him by the Titled Chiefs.He acknowledged the Oba of Lagos, Alayeluwa, Oba Rilwan Akiolu for his support to the association and interest towards the development of Lagos communities.
