"Offshoot" Wins Best Action Film at Nollywood Europe Golden Awards
The action-packed feature film "Offshoot" took home the coveted Best Action Film award at the Nollywood Europe Golden Awards, which was held on 3rd August in Frankfurt, Germany.
"We are absolutely honoured to receive this award," said Oluwatoyin Adewumi, Executive Producer and one of the Producer's of Offshoot. "The work put in by the cast and crew to create this exceptional film has paid off, and we are thrilled about this recognition."
Offshoot, which has enjoyed multiple festival screenings and nominations, has been making waves in the film industry with its unique blend of high-octane action sequences, suspense, and drama. The win at the Nollywood Europe Golden Awards marks a significant milestone for the film.
Offshoot's screening ended with a reverberating applause at the Nollywood Film Festival Germany which culminated into the Nollywood Europe Golden Awards, an awards ceremony celebrating excellence in African filmmaking and attended by notable individuals including the Nigerian Consul General in Frankfurt His Excellency Ambassador Yakubu Dadu, Actor Kalu Ikeagwu, President of the Association of Movie Producers in Nigeria Amb. Dr Queen Blessing Ebigieson, Veteran musician Felix Duke, Award-winning filmmaker Dr Henry Obidi, actors Julius Amioje and Sarian Martin amongst others.
The win for Offshoot solidifies its position as a standout in the action genre and underscores the film's impact on the global stage. "I am proud to have midwifed this project, and I congratulate the entire team on this well-deserved win," added Oluwatoyin.
Offshoot directed by Ugandan filmmaker Ayeny T. Steve and produced by Oluwatoyin Adewumi & Benjamin Abejide Adeniran stars Kehinde Bankole, Kelechi Udegbe, Ibrahim Suleiman, Bimbo Manuel, Greg "Teddy Bear" Ojefua and a host of other talented actors.
