Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe

Delta State Police Force has launched an investigation into the gruesome murder of Chigozie Udalor, a site engineer who was allegedly killed by his employees after they discovered he had a large sum of money in his account.

According to the police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, the incident occurred on December 10, 2024, but was only reported on December 12, 2024, by Hyacinth Nnalue, who stated that his cousin, Chigozie Udalor, had gone missing.

Edafe revealed that the police launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of two suspects, David Tacho and Daniel Orshio, on March 31, 2025. The suspects attempted to withdraw money from the victim’s account and were found to have conspired in the murder.

As Edafe explained, “Preliminary investigation revealed that all four suspects were employed by the deceased who is the site engineer, but they discovered he had some money in his Moniepoint account and they conspired, used a hammer to hit him on his head, tied him and buried him in a shallow grave at the site.”

“Two of the suspects David Tacho and Daniel Orshio are presently in custody while two other suspects Pius Daniel and Victor Tacho are still on the run. The body of the deceased has been exhumed and awaiting autopsy while efforts to arrest the other two suspects are ongoing.’’ Edafe said

The police are still searching for two other suspects, Pius Daniel and Victor Tacho, who are currently at large. The body of the deceased has been exhumed and is awaiting autopsy.
